A major forest industry company has an immediate need for a
Safety and Environmental Supervisor for operations located
in Southern British Columbia.
The incumbent will implement and manage programs to promote
and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in
compliance with company environmental standards.
Specific accountabilities include:

Conduct and monitor safety inspections.

Investigate accidents, evaluate and process the case.

Administer the Company Safety programs.
-
Coordinate the Joint Health and Safety Committee and
represent
management.

Prepare and provide monthly and quarterly Health and Safety
reports.
-
Assist in administering and maintaining the WSBC program and
tracking of injured or sick employees.
-
Coordinate the Return to Work Program.
Act as EMS Coordinator in managing environmental compliance
programs.

Coordinate environmental compliance and environmental
management systems, policies, and procedures.

Assist in the development and implementation of policies,
programs,
processes and procedures regarding health & safety.

Ensure employees, contractors, consultants and visitors are
informed
and comply with all Company policies, procedures and
guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications include:

Completion or enrolment in a certificate program in
Environmental and Occupational Health, along with training
and experience in Safety and Environmental Programs and
Regulations is preferred.

Level Three Industrial First Aid Certificate.

Troubleshooting ability and computer literacy are required
along with supervisory experience, strong leadership,
organizational and communication skills.
